To-go food containers 100% compostable

InnoWare, Inc.. a leading manufacturer and supplier of upscale, disposable plastic foorcontainers and paper tableware products, recently launched a line of thermoformed to-go fooccontainers that is 100% compostable and made from an annual renewable resource.

InnoWare partnered with Cereplast, a manufacturer of proprietary bio-based resins, to produce its new packaging, which is certified as "compostable" by the Biodegradable Products Association (BPI). To be certified, plastic products must decompose within 60 to 180 days. Only a very small number of plastic containers made from materials derived from annual renewable resources hold this designation.

Excellent performance Eco-Line

Unlike materials called biodegradable, materials certified as compostable can be composted quickly and do not release any toxic residues. "Our Eco-Line quickly returns to nature without leaving a trace," says Randrup. Randrup adds, "InnoWare's Eco-Line has significantly reduced its environmental impact during production, thanks to the use of a resin based on an annual renewable resource such as corn. Corn can be planted again. Certain other resources used to make compostable packaging cannot be replaced."

Because InnoWare's Eco-Line is manufactured with Cereplast's resin, these containers have other significant advantages over most other compostable packaging. They are not only more durable, but also heat resistant up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (49 "C). This is important to maintain the integrity of packaging during transportation and storage.
